Dr. Berger’s training, expertise and kindness has earned him his patients’ trust and loyalty. Always seeking to increase his knowledge, he is dedicated to his patients, and committed to doing everything possible to keep their eyes healthy and seeing well.
Dr. Berger, one of four retina specialists at The Eye Associates, graduated Magna Cum Laude from New York University in 1983, and then went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1987 from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Berger served his internal medicine internship at the Staten Island Hospital in 1988 and then his ophthalmology residency again at the State University of New York Health Science Center. He continued on to specialize in Medical and Surgical Retina with a Medical Retina Fellowship at New York University, and a Surgical Retina Fellowship at the Vitreo-Retinal Foundation, University of Tennessee.
Dr. Berger enjoys staying at the forefront of retina-related treatment and diagnostics. As such, he has been an investigator in several multi-center studies, including use of silicon oil in vitrectomy and sustained steroid drug implant for the treatment of diabetic macular edema.
