R. Taylor Davis, MD

I aim to work diligently towards safeguarding and enhancing vision by incorporating the latest methods and knowledge available.

Dr. Davis completed his glaucoma fellowship training at the prestigious UT Southwestern Hospital in Dallas, TX, where he experienced and treated a high volume with patients of complex eye pathology.

Dr. Davis is also a Florida native and has roots in Tampa Florida spanning back two generations. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, graduating Cum Laude with a dual degree – one in Microbiology and Cell Science and a minor in Business administration. During college, he was a founding father of the Sigma Nu fraternity and was involved in 3 years of clinical and basic science research at the renowned Diabetes Center of Excellence. He received a master’s degree in Pharmacology at the Tulane School of Medicine and continued research as one of the primary investigators in a cancer research project under Dr. Debaisis Mondal.

He attended medical school at Florida Atlantic University where he was president of the Drew Academic Society of the FAU College of Medicine and was the main organizer of many events like the first annual family weekend, the medical school prom, and the end of the year award ceremony. After medical school, he went back to New Orleans to attend residency at the LSU Department of Ophthalmology. All the while he has remained active in research and has presented his findings at many meetings across the United States. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology.

In his free time, Dr. Davis enjoys traveling, boating, working out, diving, skiing, and spending time with friends and family.
