Botox

When you make a facial expression, the muscles underneath your skin cause visible folds and creases on your face that become permanent over time. BOTOX® works by blocking the signal that causes your muscles to contract, thereby eliminating unwanted facial wrinkles over time.

What to Expect From Botox Treatment?

Often called a lunchtime procedure, BOTOX Cosmetic is a popular, non-surgical treatment that does not require much of your time. First, your doctor will determine which areas will benefit the most from treatment by asking you to move certain muscles. Then the injections will be administered with a very small syringe. In most cases, no anesthesia is necessary and there is no recovery time. Usually within 24 to 48 hours, you will start to see results, and within days, you’ll see a noticeable improvement in lines where the injection was placed. Your first Botox treatment should last three to four months, but you will notice that the longer you get Botox, the longer it will last for you.

Dermal Fillers

When you are young, your skin has elasticity and contains a large amount of hyaluronic acid which helps the skin retain water and look healthy and smooth. However, as you age, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases and the underlying collagen and elastin fibers break down. They essentially wear out, resulting in drier, thinner skin with more wrinkles. Don’t worry, though. Now there are dermal filler products that will produce a natural-looking enhancement to your facial skin and help you look younger, more rested and even less angry.

Areas commonly corrected with dermal fillers:

  • Nasolabial folds (folds around the nose and mouth)
  • Hands
  • Frown lines
  • Facial contouring
  • Cheek & jowls
  • Lip wrinkles
  • Lip plumping
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Scar repair

How to Choose the Right Filler

Each filler has its own ‘selling’ characteristic that may make one a better choice for you than another. The type of filler that your physicians will recommend for you will depend on the location, the depth and the size of the area of treatment. We will take the individual characteristics and advantages of each dermal filler into consideration when helping you make the decision.
